Awkwafina

Awkwafina, an American singer and actress began with humorous rap tracks that dealt with issues of race and sexuality. Her fame grew into Hollywood following the release of an album of raps. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was her first instrument. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop training began as she was just a teenager. While in college, she concentrated on her studies. She studied women's studies and journalism. For a brief period of time, in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. It wasn't until she graduated that she start focusing on music. The song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in 2012. The track was later included on her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also included popular hits that went viral, such as body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$. The final track was connected directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide released in the year 2015. A musician and author was in her portfolio, she decided to began looking for acting in a third project. In addition to early shows like Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films like Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. Her breakout performances included Dude Ocean's 8, along with Crazy Rich Asians. The EP debuted in June.
